General Job Description
Under the direction of the Welding Group Leader/Supervisor, the Welder works from customer drawings and a traveler to fabricate and weld components to produce the highest quality products at the lowest cost, while meeting departmental performance standards, customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Class A Welders: Capable of performing all aspects of welding. Can weld any type of project while consistently meeting or exceeding cycle times. Have the ability to fabricate from prints without the aide of fixtures. Able to do prototypes while also working with engineering to develop fixtures. Capable of being certified. Requires little to no supervision and has the ability to interpret blueprints and understands weld symbols.
Class B Welders: Has the ability to meet cycle times for production welding. Typically are limited to welding products and parts that they have been specifically trained on. Requires little supervision and has the ability to interpret blueprints and understands weld symbols.
Class C Welders: Entry level welder with little to no experience. Requires constant supervision. Apprentice type welders.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Successfully complete in-house welding test
Ability to read and understand blueprints at an advanced level
Accurately measure and lay out locations for welded components
Adjust weld as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel
Operate grinder, drill, band saw, torch and crane as assigned
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
Assist in training new employees in safe and efficient use of fabricating and welding methods
Job knowledge through suitable education or prior work experience
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
Specific Duties:
1. Using MIG and/or TIG, weld components together according to blueprints and Traveler
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee occasionally is required to walk, talk or hear, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, and sit
3. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
4. Ability to learn operations of multiple jigs/fixtures within a job area and must be able to regularly rotate jobs to meet schedules
5. Must work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within our quality standards to insure timely completion
6. Check and verify part numbers prior to assembly of product to customer specifications
7. Notify supervisor of part shortages before the part runs out
Protective clothing/equipment requirement:
Requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, welding helmet, grinding shield, tight-fitting clothing without tears, hearing protection and gloves

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
