Fish and Wildlife Technician 1 (Seasonal) 2 positions

Incumbent will work on the Lake Ontario Creel (fish boat and tributary surveys) monitoring angler success/effort and performance of stocked trout and salmon. The survey will consist of anchoring a boat at marinas and interviewing returning fish boats or driving a specified route covering multiple streams each day while performing counts and conducting interviews. Technicians must effectively interact and communicate with the public, ask questions regarding their angling experience and accurately record angler answers and biological data. Processing fish for length, weight, clip and scale samples is required, as well as data entry. Must be able to safely trailer, operate, and work on board an 18 foot boat. Computer skills are preferred. Technicians are required to work some overtime during the boat survey and in a variety of inclement weather conditions on both projects. Must work effectively, both independently and as a team member. Prior to the start of the survey, overnight travel will be required to clip fish in a hatchery setting. Other duties will include but are not limited to preparing gear and equipment, data entry and other computer work, training prior, and various fisheries technician duties.

Salary Range:
From $17 to $17 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
