Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Transportation)
Design duties may include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
Supervise a design squad for the Main Office Design Bureau. Responsible for direct supervision, training and management of engineers, technicians, landscape architects and analysts. Use the latest software and equipment to prepare digital delivery, 3D designs, and model-based contracts. Gain and utilize expertise and experience in design of pavements, slopes, drainage systems, water supply, traffic analysis, signals, lighting, etc. Develop and complete sealed engineering studies and designs for highway, landscape, and nonmotorized transportation projects. Update portions of the Highway Design Manual and provide related training. Occasional travel to Albany for training and other locations for field visits. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Salary Range:
From $83550 to $105472 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Candidates must possess a New York State Professional Engineer License and current registration. To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
