In a Recreation Specialist/Lifeguard position you will support individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by:
Implementing community-based recreation programs, primarily in Monroe County.
Provide swimming instruction in a group or individual setting.
Work collaboratively with staff at recreational venues and provide support to participants and staff as needed.
Create a safe, supportive, and positive environment for the participants in the SportsNet and Recreation programs.
Hours of Employment:
Full-Time 30 Hours/Week Monday - Thursday Days or Evenings Friday and Saturday Days Note:
Hours and days of week may vary depending on program needs Salary:
$15.
00/Hour Requirements High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's CTRS preferred) Experience implementing recreational activities for individuals of all ages and abilities Strong communication and organizational skills Experience working with individuals who have a physical, learning, cognitive or social challenges.
Experience providing aquatic instruction Current Lifeguard certification preferred or must be successfully completed during orientation Valid and clean NYS Driver's license and have a reliable means of transportation Ability to drive larger vehicles with trailors preferred Ability to meet all agency training requirements, including CPR and First Aid certifications.
