Engineering Technician

Prepares CADD drawings (plans, layout and details) for assigned projects in accordance with standards (i.e., DOT) and department procedures.



  • Performs field investigations & survey verifications;

  • Reads and interprets engineering sketches, maps, survey field notes, aerial photographs and technical drawings (engineering & architectural) ;

  • Researches and obtains property & zoning code information;

  • Prepares site due diligence reports, under the supervision of a project manager;

  • Prepares Concept Site and Utility Plans based off survey plans, record maps andor aerial photography;

  • Prepares detailed preliminary and final design site development plans;

  • Assists in quantity takeoffpreparation of construction cost estimates;

  • Prepares visual aids for public presentations; and

  • Provides support to project manager andor project engineer


Associates degree in Engineering Technology required. Bachelor's degree a plus. AutoCADCivil3D and/or Microstation experience required. Work experience in the construction or engineering industry also a plus, but not required. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
