SUMMARY
As a Systems Engineer - Senior, your excellent computer server skills and knowledge and your exceptional ability to develop relationships combined with your superior communications and advisory skills greatly contribute to the hardware and software solutions that meet customer and departmental needs. You will also be responsible for complex system implementations and configurations on supported server hardware and software platforms.
ATTRIBUTES
In lieu of degree an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum of Five (5) to Ten (10) years of previous computer server experience, including Windows Server Operating Systems
Strong analytical, computer and communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
System Management. Determine customer needs for server hardware and software; responsible for new system implementation and system upgrades; receive and install server hardware and Operating System software; prepare customer cost estimates, including any costs having an impact on either operating for capital budgets; act as project leader on new projects and preventive maintenance projects
Customer Service.Determine the need for, prepare and present demonstrations of server hardware and software to Server Engineering staff and customers as appropriate; provide complex server engineering support for Information Services & Technology customers; provide server technical expertise on infrastructure projects or projects requested by the customer community
Evaluation. Evaluate new server software utilities to assist team; monitor servers for health, disk space, security and overall performance; continually review Server Systems Engineering Team processes and documentation
