Fish and Wildlife Technician 1 (Seasonal) 2 positions

The NYSDEC Lake Ontario Unit is filling two seasonal Fish and Wildlife Technician positions based in Rochester, Monroe County working on the Lake Ontario Fishing Boat Survey to monitor Lake Ontario angler fishing success/effort and performance of stocked trout and salmon. The technicians are required to work weekend days and holidays, and half the weekdays. Scheduled work times vary with the changing daylight period. Technicians work in 2-week blocks of AM or PM shifts averaging 40 hours per week. Technicians must effectively interact and communicate with the public, ask questions regarding angling experience on the lake, and accurately record angler answers and biological data. Processing fish for length, weight, clip and scale samples is required. Must be able to safely trailer, operate, and work onboard an 18' boat nearly every workday. Technicians are required to work some overtime and in a variety of inclement weather conditions. Must work effectively both independently and as a team member.

Salary Range:
From $16.67 to $16.67 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience trailering and operating boats as long as 20 feet in length, interacting with the public and identifying salmon and trout.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
