This position requires fieldwork, travel and supervision and training of lower-level staff, including Health Care Surveyors 1 (Nursing). This position is responsible for the surveillance of health care providers to ensure that care provided meets standards of practice and complies with State and Federal statutes and regulations. This position involves participation in onsite and offsite surveillance activities, including but not limited to utilizing observation, interview, and record review skills to conduct investigations into complaint/incident and other regulatory surveillance activities concerning health care settings; and other activities deemed necessary by the Department of Health.
Job Function

Salary Range:
From $97029 to $106140 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Permanent Transfer Candidates:
Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service as a Health Care Surveyor 2, G20, and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service in a title G18 or higher and meeting the open competitive minimum qualifications listed below. Qualifications:
Currently licensed and registered as a professional nurse in NYS; AND a minimum of two years of post-licensure health care, public health, community health, or other nursing experience in an appropriate facility setting. Preferred
Qualifications:
Professional clinical experience in a healthcare setting; excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills; review and assess/evaluate documentation related to hospital and diagnostic and treatment center investigations, statements of deficiencies and plans of correction; experience in surveillance and enforcement; the ability to make determinations relative to facility compliance; and experienced in a team environment; and electronic medical record database experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
