Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Construction)

The Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Construction) duties will include but are not limited to the following o Review, analyze, prepare written reports, and recommend new or revised provisions of law, regulation, or code, concerning the structural safety, adequacy, stability and overall safety of buildings and structures. o Use their experience in consulting, evaluating, planning, designing, and engineering of construction projects to answer building code related questions from code officials, design professionals and the public as they pertain to the New York State Uniform Code, Energy Code, and accepted engineering standards. o Apply their education, knowledge and experience of cost-estimating, energy modeling or engineering sciences to write Technical Bulletins, Code Interpretations, and other technical documents. o Apply their education, knowledge, and experience of the mathematical, physical, and engineering sciences to develop training courses. This material will be used to instruct code officials, architects, and engineers on how to understand New York's building codes, read and interpret construction documents and perform construction inspections. o Prepare proposed written technical changes to New York State's codes and the International Model Codes and make verbal presentations. Assist in updating New York State's Uniform Code, Energy Code, and other regulations. o Provide oversight and guidance to local governments. o Review local laws and ordinances governing building construction.

Salary Range:
From $83550 to $105472 Annually

One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 24 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service. Some titles eligible for transfer require special qualifications, if applicable the special qualifications are:
