This position will be respsonsible for:
Investigating complaints and developing an investigative plan for cases involving violations of NYS Public Health Law Section 230. Conduct telephone interviews of complainants and physicians. Draft correspondence to subjects of investigation in compliance with NYS PHL Section 230. Obtain and review confidential data which may be necessary to locate subjects of investigation. Review and summarize all previous OPMC investigations of the subject physician. Document all investigative actions using the established OPMC protocol and maintain the OPMC database for case management. Prepare investigative summary of all actions including recommendation for disposition of cases. Prepare correspondence to complainant and licensee advising of disposition of case, as appropriate. Respond to telephone calls from the public with questions concerning Section 230. Obtain and evaluate documentary evidence and medical/QA records as appropriate.

Minimum Qualification
Permanent Transfer Candidates:
Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service as a Health Care Surveyor 2, G20, and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service in a title G18 or higher and meeting the open competitive minimum qualifications listed below. Qualifications:
Currently licensed and registered as a professional nurse in NYS; AND a minimum of two years of post-licensure health care, public health, community health, or other nursing experience in an appropriate facility setting. Preferred
Qualifications:
Strong computer skills, including experience using databases. Ability to interpret written communications from the public and others. Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
