Rochester, NY General Purpose of Job:
Responsible for the supervisory/management of all aircraft maintenance, including the constant airworthiness of aircraft, engines, and related components, under FAR Part 145 operations.
The Aviation Maintenance Supervisor may delegate authority to any certified and qualified maintenance employee.
However, this delegation does not relieve the Maintenance Supervisor of overall responsibility.
Duties:
Responsible for directing the priorities and activities of aircraft maintenance department.
This is a hands on position, participating as part of the aviation maintenance team performing aircraft maintenance as an A&P and as a Part 145 Repair Station Repairman.
Ensure effective communication between all levels of assigned personnel.
Work closely with Chief Inspector to coordinate and accomplish department goals.
Plans and prepares maintenance or repair estimates and determine the scope of work and personnel required Collaborates with senior management to develop and implement the department's annual business plan and budget based on goals and objectives for the company Makes periodic inspections of the working area and takes necessary steps to correct any discrepancies related to safety, cleanliness, organization, or general housekeeping practices Ensure the efficient utilization of the aircraft maintenance team in meeting on-going required maintenance production assignments.
Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship as liaison between company, clients, and the FAA with responsibility for the company's issued maintenance certificates and signing of correspondence Responsible for monitoring the progress of aircraft in repair Maintaining an open line of communication with the customer to ensure all relevant information is provided to the customer as it relates to the successful completion of the work scope on the aircraft or component.
Ensure adequate facilities, equipment and tooling is available for maintenance personnel to perform their duties.
Review training requirements and take the actions necessary to ensure that all personnel fulfill all training requirements.
Leads the development, communication, and implementation of efficient operational procedures, policies, and effective growth strategies, to include marketing, for the department Promotes a healthy culture for the department and the team that benefits employee engagement, happiness, customer loyalty, safety, integrity, and overall excellence.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Four-year college degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience, or any combination of education and experience that enables one to perform the job functions and responsibilities.
Extensive knowledge of Title 14 of Code of Federal Regulations, manual development and revision, operations specifications, FAA procedures, familiarity with technical data association with numerous airframe and engine platforms.
Must be detail oriented, possess strong customer service with exceptional communication and demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
Avionics experience is a plus with the ability to obtain a Repairman's Certificate for IFR certifications.
Must have valid FAA A&P Certificate, driver's license Work Environment:
