Supervision is received from a higher level employee.
Performs related work as required.
This is a Competitive Class position.
The individual selected to fill this vacancy will be given a provisional appointment and will be required to participate in the next Civil Service Examination for this title.
A qualified applicant may be provisionally appointed and serve in the position until a Civil Service Examination is administered and an appropriate eligible list can be established to make a permanent appointment in accordance with the Civil Service Rule of Three.

CITY RESIDENCY WILL BE REQUIRED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF HIRE.
Typical Work Activities Provides setup and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for City events and press conferences; Shoots and edits videos of City events; Shoots still pictures of City events and edits images using digital editing software; Uploads videos and still images to the City of Rochester's website; Maintains video and still image databases; Operates teleprompter for video productions; Maintains tele / video conferencing systems and assist staff in its use; Records voice-overs for radio and video productions; Develops slide shows for press conferences and other City events using presentation software; Copies and edits radio station digital recordings; Maintains audio, video, and computer equipment and supplies; Prepares purchase requisitions and requests for proposals for the purchase of new equipment and supplies; Maintains visual and audio presentation equipment and assists staff in its use; Sets up video and audio equipment for press conferences and other City events.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma PLUS I.

I.
Bachelor's degree in Communications (or closely related field) AND:
A.
Three (3) years of multi-media experience which included:
1.
Video production using non-linear editing; 2.
Producing and editing still images using digital editing software; 3.
Developing presentations using presentation software.
OR II.
Five (5) years of experience as described in I.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
