SUMMARY

Performs as a Radiologic Technologist and a Special Procedures Technologist in collaboration with multidisciplinary team within Interventional & Imaging Services.

SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday 7:
00a-5:
30pm, 4 shifts per week, Call is required - no more than 12 call shifts per month

ATTRIBUTES

  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of hospital certificate program.

  • New York State registry eligible in Radiologic Technology.

  • Must hold current ARRT certification.

  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology required.

  • Communicates effectively within team demonstrating clear and direct communication with others.

  • Prior X-Ray experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care. Confirms patient identification and examination, provides radiologist with pertinent information for interpretation, individualizes and provides effective explanations of exams to patients, correctly positions patients for standards examination views, performs special or additional views if required by adjusting routine for difficult or limited movement patients.

  • Procedures. Procedures include but not limited to:
    all angiography and digital acquisitions, cardiac catherizations, pacemaker insertions, IVC filters, stents, peripheral angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, insertion of dialysis catheters, PICCs, vertebroplasty, uterine artery embolizations.

  • Collaboration. Assists physician/RN in immediate post-operative care of patient. Assumes on-call responsibilities as assigned.

RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
