This full time position will focus on the analysis and maintenance of our network of manual, radio, and wireless meters and meter reading systems across the country. This position takes a person who has the office computer skills to identify, track and troubleshoot and then travel to onsite locations to physically complete the repair, replacement or new installation. Operate, Configure & Analyze Meter Reading Systems:
Assure accurate and timely system wide retrieval of meter reads on a continuous basis for our manual, radio, and wireless systems
Import meter reads into billing application from various sources
Analyze meter read files/logs to identify issues with missing or incomplete reads
Register, wire, and attach transmitters to meters
Register/add new meters into AMR system
Prepare, register, and package meters for shipment to off site locations
Oversee a network of offsite meter readers to assure timely retrieval of monthly meter reads
Repair, Maintain & Install Systems:
Excellent communications skills to communicate and coordinate with property managers, residents, maintenance personnel and general contractors
Local and out of state travel to various properties to perform install, maintenance and repair of AMR systems
Run new wire from transmitter or remote to meter
Troubleshoot, install or replace wireless signal repeaters and data collection device
Replaces defective meter registers, noting new readings and entering on proper report forms
Document and organize work/repair/replacement purchase orders
Work from a ladder and lift carry tools and parts.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills
Ability to easily learn and master the use of computer based meter reading systems and billing application
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel software with the ability to create and format meter read import/ export files.
Knowledge of low voltage/ bell wire electronics (similar to alarm system wiring)
Knowledge of water, gas, electrical utilities relating to multifamily residential & commercial
Knowledge of common electrical hand tools and power tools
Excellent time management and planning/scheduling skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with municipality customer service, property managers, residents, maintenance personnel and general contractors.
Strong computer knowledge with the ability to work using Windows OS environment
Technicians with their own personal tool kit preferred
Compensation: Med & Dent availableEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
