Credit Analyst, AVP (Rochester, NY, f/t) Conduct indpt rsch on high-yield muni bonds w/primary focus on bonds that are rated below investment grade & bonds not followed by a credit rating agency. Industry categories incl: muni bond issuers in PR & other US territories, charter schools & higher ed sectors. Examine proposed new bond issues, review bonds avail in secondary market and ongoing surveillance of existing holdings. Draft concise memos identifying & summarizing key issues & overall credit risks of individual securities. If bond is not rated by a rating agency, recommend/defend approp credit rating persuasively. Identify bonds that may be good purchase and/or sale candidates. Rqts: Master's in fin/econ/acctg & CFA (or working toward); & 3 yrs w/credit analysis w/non-rated & high yield muni bonds, Excel (Macros), Word, Bloomberg.
