Senior Manufacturing Financial Analyst

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading and delivering the creation of annual standards, monitoring of all aspects of performance and the development of forecasts, annual budgets and long term strategy. In addition, the role works closely with General Accounting to execute the monthly financial reporting close. Responsible for monthly cost meeting and preparing economic analysis for capital projects. Monthly financial analysis and reporting includes capital expenditures, inventory, labor, materials, overhead and various productivity measures/KPIs. As a proactive business partner with operations, the role determines the impact of various projects on cash flow and profits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Accountable for the preparation and presentation of the West Henrietta Packaging/Global Supply Chain budgets, quarterly forecasts, long range plans, daily/weekly/monthly reporting. Identifies and projects annual overhead, allocations, labor, materials and capital spending. Provides analysis of trends, variances and opportunities. (Including CAPEX.)
2.Member of the West Henrietta Management Council, providing financial perspective on managerial decisions, informs management of financial issues and participates on/leads projects. Partner with all members of the West Henrietta Packaging team to assist them with the financial aspects of their organization.
3.Drive measurable process improvement in existing financial and operational processes.
4.Determine financial training needs for West Henrietta operations. Develop and deliver training, including easy to use tools. Provide coaching on financial matters, as needed.
5.Provide reports on and interpretation of actual operating expenses versus budgets/forecasts. Lead monthly financial review to the management team. Enhance the capability of the management team in the functional/departmental analysis of expenses and metrics.
6.Provide management with up-to-date analysis on actual performance and potential opportunities. (Including CAPEX.)
7.Prepare error-free reports on Key Performance Indicators for packaging and/or distribution operations including such things as Cost per Unit and Value of Production, Yield by Product and Total Headcount.
8.Responsible for the month-end close and journal entries for West Henrietta packaging.
9.Create, maintain and improve local financial models (for the use by both finance and operations).
10.Accountable for providing proactive leadership to the organization relative to the various planning processes, such as the Annual Budget and Forecasts.
11.Ensure proper internal controls and standardized reporting and analysis are in place for the site especially in the inventory control area.
12.Responsible for capital expenditure budgeting, analysis, control and preparation of economic analysis. In addition, prepare information for cash flow forecast.
13.Work on special projects as required such as capital project proposals or Lean/Six Sigma projects, including project justification, classification and payback analysis.
14.Annually audit capital assets; manage documentation/approval process of disposals; write-off's and acquisition of new assets
15.Local liaison and coordinator for the year-end SOX audit with internal audit and KPMG.
16.Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to analyze actual vs. plan results and summarize underlying drivers of variances as well as providing clear and succinct interpretation of results to management.
Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
Experience with standard cost estimates, financial analysis and cost drivers
Experience synthesizing and communicating operational and financial data
Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
Ability to trouble-shoot and solve problems independently
Creator of change and continuous improvement and knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma
Microsoft Excel and Power Point wizard
Ensure compliance with internal controls
Ability to apply the principles of Management Cost Accounting and US GAAP
Ability to manage multiple deliverables, conflicting priorities and tight timelines

EDUCATION
Preferred 5 to 8 years of financial experience required. Cost accounting proficiency and public accounting/auditing background strongly desired.
Lean Six Sigma experience a plus
Experience with BaaN or other ERP systems
